I told you Skrillex was a DJ to look out for! He along with 4 other DJ's, including The Crystal Method, are featured in this new film, out on limited release and only playing in theaters Feb. 16th and 23rd. The movie explores music's past, and it's present reinvention. This will be a must watch for me, so I'll be sure to follow up with a review once I get a chance to see it.

Say "Hello" to ϟƘƦƖןןΣx

I may be new to Skrillex, but at only 24 years old, Skrillex (aka, Sonny Moore) is not that old to the scene. Apparently he has been making his name in the DJ world the past 2 years, by creating remixes of popular songs (which has garnered him 5 Grammy nominations this year). He has yet to release a full length album of his own, but it looks like 2012 will be the year for his official debut. Below is Skrillex's take on Benny Bennasi's song, "Cinema."
Benny Bennassi - Cinema (Skrillex Remix) by Skrillex

I recently was the DJ for my good friend's wedding at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas. It was my first time both attending and playing a destination wedding, but I'm happy to report that everything went off without a hitch (well, except for the one between the bride & the groom)!
It was really great to see everyone, both young and old, celebrating by getting down on the dance floor. Congratulations again to Tiffany & Ruben!
My Top Dance Hit of 2011
Following annual tradition, I was ready to begin selecting the top 5 dance songs of 2011 this week. But when I was sifting through the releases of this past year, I only came up with rather uninspiring results (which is another reason for my lack of posts in recent months). I honestly had trouble finding five songs I felt worthy of this category, although there was at least one I knew I would be including here. So instead of 5, I present to you my personal favorite song to dance to of 2011: Cobra Starship's "You Make Me Feel." Hopefully you'll be dancing to this one somewhere at New Year's!
Top 25 Hits of 2011: Mashup!
We've come to the last few days of 2011 when it's time to reflect on the year that was. And to help us with that is DJ Earworm's annual mashup of the top 25 hits of the past 12 months...
Sleigh Bells: "Born to Lose"
I've been keeping busier than usual these past couple months which has unfortunately kept me away from posting on here. But I'm delighted to report that I'll be returning to the turntables next month for a friend's wedding. And with that news, I also come bearing a new single by the one and only Sleigh Bells, off their forthcoming album, Reign of Terror. Enjoy!
Tom Vek Live: "Someone Loves You"
Tom Vek recently did a live recording for MTV's Hive. Above is one of my favorite songs off his latest album, Leisure Seizure, which Tom completely does justice to live. And if you like that, then I highly recommend checking out the rest of the videos from this performance HERE.
History of Rap: Part 2
They're at it again! And just as impressive as Part 1. Enjoy!
Beastie Boys: "Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win"
It's been a long time since I've seen such a creative music video, which makes sense once you hear that it is the first one directed by Spike Jones to be released this year. Add in the Beastie Boys and Santigold, and well, you've got music and video gold!
Rye Rye ft. Robyn: "Never Will Be Mine"
Less than a month ago, I was walking my dog Shorty on a Sunday morning, when I could hear a song by Rye Rye playing out in the street. I noticed a small production crew, and guessed that they were filming a music video, although I never got a clear view of the musical artist to be sure of who it was. Well, it looks like I was right! Didn't know Robyn was involved too, or I probably would have lurked around longer!
The Long Awaited Return of Tom Vek!!!
I can't tell you how excited I am right now!! I consider Tom Vek to be one of the best musicians of our time and to be told the news today (after 5 years of utter silence) that he has returned with a new album is truly the best announcement I could hear all month! Along with the news is already a video for the first single, "A Chore." Please enjoy!
Britney Spears: "Till the World Ends"
This is truly Britney's best song off her latest album, Femme Fatale. I've had this one on my playlist everyday this past week, and the video that has premiered today to go along with it does not disappoint!
